The southeast is the largest of Calgary’s quadrants and the fastest-growing, so its fuel map runs from the established stations along 17 Avenue SE (International Avenue), Macleod Trail and Glenmore in the inner city all the way out to the newer retail hubs at Seton, Mahogany and McKenzie Towne. The far-south communities are anchored by big-box centres, and the Costco and Co-op options near them are usually the cheapest fills in that part of the city; closer in, Forest Lawn and Ogden have a dense mix of independents that price aggressively.
Because the SE covers so much ground — from Inglewood and Ramsay near downtown down to Auburn Bay and Cranston by the river — the gap between the cheapest and nearest station can be larger here than elsewhere, which is exactly when the price-versus-distance trade-off below is worth a look.
