Calgary Co-op runs one of the largest gas bar networks in the city, and on most days its posted prices sit between the warehouse clubs and the national majors — usually a few cents under Shell, Petro-Canada and Esso. Unlike Costco, anyone can fuel at a Co-op gas bar; the membership angle is that Co-op members earn equity and rewards on fuel purchases, which historically returns a meaningful percentage at year end.
Co-op gas bars cluster around the co-op food centres — Crowfoot, Varsity and the Hamptons in the northwest, Westhills and Oakridge in the southwest, and a dense spread through the south and northeast. Many locations include a car wash and convenience store, and fuel discounts tied to grocery spending run regularly.
The list below ranks every Co-op location we track by its current regular price, checked hourly. If a Co-op is not the absolute cheapest pump in your quadrant, it is rarely far off — and the member equity effectively widens the gap in Co-op’s favour for regular shoppers.
