Calgary Resources

Useful links for Calgary drivers, commuters, and property owners — the sites we actually check before heading out.

Finding cheap gas is only one part of getting around Calgary. Road closures, Deerfoot traffic, a chinook rolling in, or a surprise snowfall can change your plans (and your fuel consumption) faster than a price cycle can. This page collects the official resources we rely on ourselves — plus a few trusted local services — so you can plan the whole trip, not just the fill-up.

Driving & Road Conditions

  • 511 Alberta — the province's official road reports: closures, construction, winter driving conditions, and live highway cameras for Highway 1, Highway 2, and everything in between. Worth a look before any trip to Banff or Edmonton.
  • City of Calgary — Roads — city-level detours, snow route parking bans, and construction projects that affect your commute inside city limits.
  • Alberta Motor Association (AMA) — roadside assistance, vehicle registries, driver education, and their own road-trip planning tools. Most Alberta drivers end up at an AMA counter eventually.
  • Calgary Parking — on-street parking zones, ParkPlus rates, and downtown parkade locations, so the money you saved at the pump doesn't disappear at the meter.

Fuel Prices & Taxes

  • Alberta Fuel Tax — the Government of Alberta's official page for the provincial fuel tax rate, including how the oil-price-linked rate adjustments work. We break down what this means at the pump in our Alberta gas taxes guide.
  • Tomorrow's Calgary Gas Price Forecast — our own daily prediction of where Calgary prices are headed, built on the weekly Tuesday/Wednesday retail cycle, WTI crude, and Edmonton wholesale rack prices.
  • CheapGasCalgary FAQ — how our price data works, how fresh it is, and why Costco is almost always at the top of the cheapest list.

Getting Around

  • Calgary Transit — CTrain and bus schedules, fares, and trip planning. On days when gas spikes mid-cycle, the Red Line downtown is sometimes the cheapest ride in town.
  • Environment Canada — Calgary Forecast — the official seven-day forecast and weather alerts. Cold snaps and chinooks both move fuel consumption more than most drivers expect.

Home & Property Services

  • CMP Roofing — for commercial roof repairs, inspections, and flat roofing in Calgary. Hail season and freeze-thaw cycles are hard on Calgary roofs; a local commercial roofing contractor who works with SBS, TPO, and flat-roof systems year-round is worth having in your contacts before the next storm, not after.
